Collecting and recycling rainwater
is not a new concept, for many it is a life-maintaining need, for others it is
an environmentally conscious decision to recycle a valuable natural resource.
The eponymous rainwater collection vessel, the water butt is by necessity a large
capacity item.
Previously, its main drawback has been the storage and
transport cost associated with such a bulky item - the majority of volume being
air. Now, a new generation of flat pack water butts aims to change this, opening
up a simple, environmentally friendly solution to many.

capacity water butt. It comes in three pieces that click effortlessly together

access, and easy operate tap and a childproof lid with debris grill designed to
stop water contamination. | |

To keep the water stored in good condition and to avoid algae
growth, rainwater is collected in an internal, polypropylene bag. | |
|
The bag can be replaced after periods of non-use when the water
may have stagnated and at least yearly. This ensures that maintenance of the water
butt is minimal and very nearly effortless. |
